Here families can get inside the Christmas Spirit and also combine the markets with a weekend skking on the snow.  In the Viennese Dream Christmas market, punch and chestnut stands draw customers with seasonal treats, in front of the stunning view of the City Hall.

Big news for families: there is an area dedicated to children, where they can learn how to make Christmas cookies and candles!

ON THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE MAGIC IN TALLINN, ESTONIA

Let’s get north, the great north! Estonia is a very Christmas-friendly country, and not just for the winter weather! Its beautiful houses, with their sloping roofs, are perfect to re-create the atmosphere of a real Santa Claus village.  Tallinn Christmas Market is a fairy tale, it is situated in the Town Hall Square of Tallinn. Everything is possible here, as many magic characters stand into the market, which host the most important Christmas tree in Estonia (it has been set up in Town Hall Square since 1441), and also the first Christmas tree ever to be put on display in  whole  Europe. Perhaps kids will find elf and gnomes here, for a very magic Christmas!

FINDING THE ITALIAN SPIRIT IN TRENTO, ITALY

If you have never been to Trentino Alto Adige with your family, you made a big mistake. This region is one of the most family-friendly in Italy and also one of the most beautiful. Just under the Alps, Trento is a little mountain city where the atmosphere is silent and quiet all year, and Christmas is the perfect time to be here. Italians call it ‘Città del Natale’ (Christmas city) . Here you can buy souvenirs, taste delicious local food (cheese and dried orange, highly recommended) and then bring kids to the MUSE, the museum of Science designed by the italian architect Renzo Piano: here they will have a lot of fun and will learn more about nature. A MODERN CHRISTMAS IN HELSINKI, FINLAND

Mixing old and new, this one  is one of the must see Christmas markets in Europe. You can eat vegan, play bingo, watch a contest for dogs, drink mulled wine, let your children play and also have a relaxing moment into a unisex sauna (recommended for stressed parents!). Plus, Helsinki is beauuuutiful. For a very Finnish Christmas!
