STONEHENGE (UK)

Located at about 1hr 30min from London, Stonehenge is a great day trip from the capital of UK. You can easily get here taking a train from London’s Waterloo Station that stops at Salisbury station. As Salisbury station is about 9 miles away from Stonehenge archeological site and at the moment there aren’t any public buses that take there, you will need to catch a tour bus to Stonehenge Visitor Center.

If you are wondering if it is worth the trip, read more about the mystery of Stonehenge to understand why it fascinates so many people from all around the world. As your day trip is finished, we suggest you to go back to London and get prepared for the next step of your family train trip around Europe.

PARIS (FRANCE)

With it’s underwater train crossing the Channel Tunnel, that’s probably the most incredible train journey you can experience in Europe. Kids will be amazed by the trip itself, but let’s face the truth, they will love Paris as well! The Eiffel Tower, Disneyland Paris, le Jardins de Tuileries and the French patisserie! Isn’t it an additional good reason to visit Paris with kids?

The train leaves from St Pancras International station of London and, in 2hr 16min it will take you right to the center of Paris, at Gare du Nord station. Check on Eurostar website, as they have discounted fares on specific days/hours of the week.

MARSEILLE (FRANCE)

Another city that is really worth visiting in France is Marseille. Taking a train from Gare de Lyon station in Paris, you can easily get to Marseille Saint-Charles station in about 3hr 20min. Being the city of pirates par excellence, Marseille will really amaze kids with its incredible stories and curiosities. Moreover, at a short trip from Marseille, there are the Calanques, stunning bays and inlets that will make it very difficult for you to take a train to go somewhere else.

BARCELONA (SPAIN)

If you travel to Europe, that’s a step you can’t really miss. Famous for the numerous Gaudi’s works of art, it will capture your heart with its lively and kid-friendly atmosphere. That’s why Barcelona is one of the cities I have chosen to run my family city tours!

Although the high-speed train trip is not that short (about 4hr 30min), it’s very convenient, as from Marseille Saint-Charles station to Barcelona Sants there aren’t any connections you will have to keep in mind.

See you in Europe, my friends!
