The trulli houses of Alberobello are a must-see for every traveller making a Southern Italy tour!
The trulli are mortarless constructions, characterized by coned roofs as well as by mysterious pinnacles and calcareous signs. They were initially used as stables for animals or to store agriculture tools. Alberobello is especially famous for its trulli because it’s the first town that started employing these constructions as houses.
