Travel to Italy will be possible again from June, follow Tapsy and get ready to discover the country with the great advantage to have less people around you.

The Belpaese is opening for business again, which means we can travel to Italy starting from June. That’s what the Italian government said in the past days, to give the Summer season a chance. From the 18th of May, Italian citizen can move free in their own region and, from June, the frontiers will be opened to foreign travelers from the European Union. So, if you intent to travel to Italy in June with (or without!) your family, that’s what you need to know and where it is more convenient to go.

TRAVEL TO ITALY IN JUNE 2020, WHO AND HOW

Only Europeans

Until now, only people from other European countries are allowed to cross the Italian borders from June. People can come for tourism, which means they don’t have to respect any quarantine. Controls will be activated before and after the journey, to ensure a safe travel to every person and trying to control the pandemic, which is still dangerous. What do you have to do? Check constantly your country dispositions about traveling abroad, as travel to Italy will be possible only if the country/region of origin has a stable situation regarding the outbreak.

Where to go in Italy

At the moment, central and southern Italy are the less affected areas, and north is going better every day. Seems like south of Italy could have its summer season, but many precautions are on their way to preserve people’s safety. Beaches will be controlled and you can only access by booking your space (even in public beaches). It is the only way to prevent and mantaining the social distancing. Bars and restaurants are re-opening and yes, booking is required if you want to have your table.

Countryside and small villages are another great idea, to live a sustainable holiday and explore the hidden gems of Italy, which have an incredible heritage of medieval villages and UNESCO sites. More than 400 of these villages or by the sea.  A very good combination if you want to relax and taste a bit of real Italian life.
